Charis Bhavan Retreat Centre, a haven for all those seeking God Almighty's presence took shape in the mind of Fr. James Manjackal, the founding father, and it took concrete form on November 25, 1989 with the generous donation of land by Fr. Devasia Kuzhupil. The Centre is being guided and marshaled by the congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales. The center has been doing commendable work, for the past on decade, among people of all walks of life, attracting them to a blissful relationship with God.

It is a well-known MSFS retreat centre in Kerala, making God-experience a reality for thousands of people who seek God’s presence and grace. It is the only retreat centre of such quality that MSFS have all over the world. Ever since its inception, Charis Bhavan has been a channel of peace, joy and love to mankind irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and nationality. To build and mould individuals inculcating in them a sense of God's abounding love and grace has always been the mantra of Charis Bhavan.

It is helping thousands of people to solve or face their social, economic, domestic, psychological and spiritual problems. The retreat programmes in Charis Bhavan is much appreciated by those who participate. The Perpetual Adoration Chapel brings hundreds of people everyday to Eucharistic adoration and God-experience. Charis Bhavan experiences the Perpetual Adoration Chapel as the Power center of all its activities. There is real, abundant spiritual power generated and shared by the commitment and ministries of our confreres in Charis Bhavan.
